Thank you for taking the time to visit my site. I was born in Bristol, England, but now live near Calgary, Alberta, in Canada.
There was a lot of Regency-era architecture in the area of Bristol where I grew up. My fascination with its elegance was later enhanced by the novels of Georgette Heyer. That was what prompted me to write two sets of Regency romances, the Berkeley Square series and Those Regency Belles, with three titles in each.
The Buxton Chronicles is a collection of historical novellas highlighting the adventures of Lord Randolph and Lady Serena Buxton. Brides of Banff Springs was the first book in BWL Publishing Inc.'s Canadian Historical Brides collection. I also co-authored Envy the Wind, Book 11 in that collection.
An editor once told me I was too English to write a contemporary western romance. My view is that if you are a writer, you can write anything you turn your mind to, so I wrote Loving That Cowboy, followed by Legacy of Love, and then Loving Georgia Caldwell.
My newest venture is the Sixpenny Cross Murder Mysteries, a cozy series which will have three titles. I might not have tackled this genre without the gentle encouragement of my publisher!
My tag line is History, Mystery, and Love, so my romances and historical novels are laced with a little mystery to keep my heroes and heroines on their toes, and, of course, love has to conquer all, whether historical or contemporary.
I have had to do research for every book I have written, but during a writing workshop many years ago, when the topic of research was being discussed, the presenter said, "Never mind the research, write the damn book." Well, I find I write better if I have done some research first. That's not to say I don't sometimes go down the rabbit hole and find out stuff that I really don't need or which I find fascinating. There are also times when I need to stop writing and research something specific.
As an author, I read a lot. I also love going to the movies or watching movies on TV, which, for me, is pure escapism. I have always loved horses, but now, at 82 and not as physically active as I used to be, I do miss horses and riding. I no longer have dogs, but thankfully, I still get my pet fix through my house and pet sitting business, which I started in 2013. Over the years, I have sat cats, dogs, rabbits, goats, chickens, turkeys, a bearded dragon lizard, calves and sheep, so a fairly mixed bag. Oh, add to that two tanks of fish as well.
You can check my book page for all my titles here on my website, or find me under the author tab at BWL Publishing Inc.
